Please support this petition to build a pump track in Coffs Harbour.

A pump track is a purpose-built continuous loop with small hills and banked turns. It is designed with specific transitions so you can propel your bike using gravity and a pumping action. It is suitable for bikes, balance bikes, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades.

While Coffs Harbour has some fantastic outdoor recreational facilities, the increasing population, tourists and the number of participants at local outdoor facilities (including bmx, scooters, skateboards, trikes and balance bikes) means local facilities are stretched during peak times such as after school, weekends and school holidays. This can easily become dangerous (especially for new or visiting riders).

A well-designed pump track would benefit the local, surrounding and visiting communities and would have sections specifically targeted for beginner and intermediate riders of all ages. A pump track would provide another free community sporting facility that can be of benefit to everyone.

Brelsford Park has large open spaces and a pump track adjacent to the existing Koby Memorial Skatepark would be a great addition to the Coffs Harbour city.

In summary, a pump track would complement the area, develop talents, provide a safe space for activity, socialising and fun.

This petition will be sent to Coffs Harbour Council (re: Open Space strategy) for discussion.
