Our dear friend Noman Ahmad is differently-abled; he experiences significant hearing loss. This has been drastically affecting his ability to learn in school because he cannot hear when the teachers speak. His situation is mirrored by hundreds of thousands of individuals every year who are born with hearing disabilities or acquire it later in life. According to the World Health Organization, 466 million people worldwide have disabling hearing loss, 34 million of which are children. Unfortunately, Noman's financial circumstances do not permit him the support he requires - a simple pair of hearing aids - a reality many impoverished individuals face globally. We firmly believe that financial constraints should not be a hurdle in obtaining essential medical equipment like hearing aids.
