Protest Reopening of Universal Studios Stardust Racers

Protest Reopening of Universal Studios Stardust Racers
The Issue
As a Disabled American Veteran, I know all too well the importance of ensuring safety and inclusivity for all, especially in environments meant for entertainment and joy like theme parks. Recently, an unspeakable tragedy occurred at Universal Studios on the Stardust Racers ride where a disabled individual sadly lost their life due to trauma experienced during the ride, as widely reported by multiple media outlets.
My husband and I are staunch advocates for marginalized communities and families who often endure unfair treatment due to the thoughtlessness and greed inherent in some corporate decisions. This tragic event serves as a cruel reminder that our society has not done enough to protect those who are most vulnerable. It is imperative that we honor the memory of the individual who lost their life by demanding that Universal Studios NOT reopen the “DeathTrap,” while there is still an ongoing investigation by the bereaved family’s legal experts and representatives.
Despite the excitement rides like Stardust Racers may bring, the priority must always be the safety and well-being of every participant. Universal Studios owes it to their guests and to the family of the deceased to allow a thorough investigation and transparent explanation of why their corporation feels justified in reopening this particular ride so quickly.
We call on Universal Studios to postpone the reopening of Stardust Racers!
Moreover, Universal Studios should take this opportunity to lead the charge in setting a new standard for the entertainment industry especially when a tragedy of this level not only affects the family but also our Orange County community and the state of Florida.
Join us in urging Universal Studios to make compassion their foremost priorities. Sign this petition to demand accountable and responsible actions in the aftermath of this tragedy. Together, we can advocate for justice for the family left to grieve their innocent loved one.
