Protect Utah Voters – Restore Fair Maps and Keep Salt Lake County Whole

The Issue

In 2018, Utah voters sent a clear message: we want fair elections, not rigged maps.

Through Proposition 4, we created an independent redistricting commission to draw our congressional boundaries without partisan games. But just a few years later, lawmakers dismantled that reform, ignored the commission’s maps, and passed their own—dividing Salt Lake County into all four congressional districts.

The result? A map that doesn’t reflect our communities. A map that weakens the voice of hundreds of thousands of voters. And a map the courts have already ruled violates our constitutional right to alter our government through ballot initiatives.

Now, after being ordered to fix the problem, the Legislature approved a new map that still appears to favor one party and continues to carve up Salt Lake County. It’s a slap in the face to everyone who believed in fair representation, regardless of political affiliation.

This isn’t just about party politics. It’s about basic democratic principles. Voters spoke. The courts listened. But the Legislature isn’t listening. That’s why we’re calling on Judge Dianna Gibson, Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, and Utah lawmakers to:

  • Reject the new map that continues to divide Salt Lake County unfairly
  • Reinstate full authority to the independent redistricting commission voters created
  • Adopt maps that reflect communities—not political convenience

Utahns deserve better. We deserve elections where every vote counts and every community has a voice. Stand with us to protect the power of the people and demand congressional maps that are truly fair.

Sign now to say: Enough with the games. Respect the voters. Restore fair maps.
