The Issue

When I was eight years old, I took a karate class mixed with boys and girls of different sizes. Despite being one of the few girls my age, I stepped into the ring and sparred with boys without a second thought. And you know what? I whooped their asses. No one complained – not the parents, teachers, or other kids. This experience shaped me, proving that a mix of strength and diversity isn't something to fear.

Now, the conversation around trans rights in sports is heating up, but what gets lost is the simple truth: choice matters. Trans people choosing which team to compete on should be a non-issue. When I was a kid, sparring with boys didn’t traumatize me or anyone else. So why the uproar over trans women choosing to be on the team that matches their identity?

What really drives these fears? A lack of understanding? A desire to control what we don’t fully grasp? Trans people knowing where they belong on a team isn’t about taking away from others; it's about letting them compete where they're most comfortable and authentic.

It's time to get it together. Let's protect the right of trans athletes to be on the team aligned with their identity. This isn’t just about sports—it's about respecting personal choice and promoting equality. I urge you to recognize this and support the autonomy of trans individuals. Let's create an inclusive sports environment for everyone.

Please sign this petition to stand up for trans rights and emphasize the value of personal choice and empowerment in sports.
