As seen by the picture the Cot Valley and its Stream is a home to a plethora of Plant life ,bordering the stream as it heads down the Valley out to sea. Not to mention the Aquatics inhabiting the stream itself.
Today the Environment Agency has said it will make changes to STOP the decline of Bio-Diversity, and support nature recovery.
It is to be hoped this will not need to be applied to the Valley, which as stated many times before in this petition is teeming with Flora and Fauna. The area surrounding the “pond” needs to be restored and allow nature to heal its wounds. The Environmental Agency have made a strong OBJECTION to this “pond” ( along with many others)and it is to be hoped a decision to the 2nd retrospect application will be refused. Yet , after almost 3 years the County Council is still indecisive , when it is obvious what the result should be.
The Government has set out new measures for a Nature Package which includes improvement to access to green spaces and connect the Public with the Natural World and to connect children with Nature. As the “pond “ and its surrounds are on private land, fenced , who will benefit? Not the Public who daily walk this beautiful Valley all seasons. Also the families who visit here on holiday each year , who specifically come to stay in the Valley and explore it and its surrounding woodland and Coastal Paths.
