Protect the Cot Valley from Dam /Lake Construction and Preserve its Natural Beauty

Protect the Cot Valley from Dam /Lake Construction and Preserve its Natural Beauty
The Issue
The following is without prejudice.
The Cot Valley, located in West Penwith, Cornwall, is a cherished natural haven. This beautiful valley, formed during the ice age and home to the serene Cot stream that flows towards the sea, has been loved by locals and holidaymakers alike for generations. Its steep sides bear witness to ancient human settlements and later Cornish mining activity. Today it remains relatively untouched, teeming with wildlife including protected species.
However, this idyllic landscape is under threat due to plans for a lake/dam construction intended for as yet to be explained. !! Such development not only endangers our local wildlife but also threatens homes in the area.
This issue is deeply personal as we believe in preserving unspoilt places like Cot Valley for future generations. The joy of walking its length and arriving at its secluded beach is one of life's true pleasures - be it summer or winter. From choughs soaring above cliffs to wildflowers covered with butterflies and signs of badgers at every turn - this place showcases nature at its best.
If we allow development here today, we risk losing these spaces forever; each small area lost adds up until there's nothing left of our natural heritage.
We cannot stand by while such irreplaceable beauty gets destroyed under a large Lake/ Dam. We urge you to join us in calling on local authorities to halt these destructive plans immediately so that future generations can continue enjoying this beautiful valley just as we have done throughout history.
