Ben Goldsmith the famous and dedicated Environmentalist, who is at the forefront of re wilding, and is taking steps on his property in Somerset to re wild and let nature just BE.!!

The Council For The Protection of Rural England, is a charity that campaigns to promote and protect the Countryside for everyone’s benefit, wherever they live. As does the Wild Life Trust, which works here in Cornwall to also protect and enhance wildlife and its environs. 

The Cot is a place teeming with Wildlife  .

Invertibrates such as Butterflies, Moths, DragonFlies, and a myriad of bugs , spiders and much more.   Mammals such as Roe deer, Bats, Hares, Rabbits, Badgers, Field Voles to name but a few.   Reptiles are hidden away in shady nooks and along the banks of the stream. It is possible to find Slow Worms, Adders, Frogs and Toads .  The Valley is home to many birds, from Birds of prey, Choughs, Finches , and Dippers. Owls.   Fungi in every shape and form in the damp and leafy places along the stream and in amongst the trees. From Ink Caps to Puff Balls, and a rare sight hidden close to the stream , Dead Mans Fingers!

The fields , paths and lanes  are covered in a carpet of plants and flowers. Wild Garlic abounds, Creeping  Buttercups in some of the fields , Elderflower Bushes, Fox Gloves, Campion, Red Clover the list is endless. 

This is home to Nature at its best!

This Valley deserves to be left with its wonderful Bio-Diversity intact and undisturbed . Development and domestication have no place within its banks.

It is a wildlife haven  from its start to the Sea, a perfect example of Nature as Nature Intended .
