Breaking Update: Heritage Christian Academy, Heritage Daycare/Preschool and Heritage Baptist Church of Haslet
I’ve learned that pastor Eric Crawford who allowed his adult son Caleb Crawford — a registered sex offender — to work on the campus of a school and daycare he oversees was also serving as President of the Independent Baptist Fellowship International (IBFI).
As a reminder, the facts are not in dispute. Caleb is on the sex registry on a government website - https://sor.dps.texas.gov/Search/Rapsheet?Sid=50795163 There are clear government guidelines about where sex offenders are allowed to be around children. Heritage put out a statement acknowledging Caleb was on campus (also attached here).
I have screenshots from the IBFI newsletter and their website confirming his leadership role. Since this story came to light, his name has been removed from the IBFI website. I have preserved documentation of his prior listing and attached here for transparency.
I'm also reaching out to IBFI for a status update on Eric's leadership role since this news came to light.
This raises serious questions about oversight and accountability — especially when someone serving in international leadership is making decisions that directly impact child safety at the local level.
I will also be updating my petition to reflect this new information and calling for Eric's resignation as President of IFBI as well. You can see the current IBFI board here - https://www.ibfi.us/about-us/ibfi-officers where there is no longer a President listed.
