We are 4 days from the Tues. Aug 15 6:30 pm public hearing at San Gabriel City Hall on the removal of green park and trees to build more pickleball courts at Smith Park! This is when the San Gabriel City Council will listen to the public and make a decision!
The Council has only heard from a large pickleball player organization looking for SG Valley locations. Now the Council must see and hear from all residents and park users (swimmers, families, tennis and handball players, etc) who love this small green community park.
Across the US, other cities said no to pickleball noise and loss of parkland. Alhambra, La Canada Flintridge and other towns said "NO" - and we must show up at City Hall to protect our precious park before it's too late.
Tell the Council to spend this $150K on the existing Smith Park pool, restrooms, handball courts, etc that need repairs and upgrades.
