The Issue

We, the undersigned, call on Aberdeen City Council to relocate the proposed Cruyff Court and basketball facility to one of the three alternative available sites in Kincorth, rather than the current planned location.

The site chosen by the council will directly impact the long-standing home pitches of Kincorth Football Club and Kincorth Emirates, where over 200 local children train and play every week.

These pitches have been the heart of our community since 1984. They provide a safe, positive environment for children and young people in a deprived area – helping them develop, stay active, and grow through sport.

We fully support the idea of a Cruyff Court and basketball facility in Kincorth. It would be a fantastic addition to the community. However, placing it on our existing football fields will result in the loss of a full-size 9/11 pitch for children, depriving them of vital opportunities.

We urge the council to:

Work with the community to find a suitable site.

Relocate the project to one of the three available alternative locations.

Protect the football pitches that generations have relied upon.

This is not about stopping the Cruyff Court – it’s about ensuring it enhances the community, not damages it.

Stand with us. Protect the pitches. Protect the kids.
