A proposed data centre in Broadmeadows is raising concerns amongst locals about its potential impact on our community, environment and our quality of life.

Many residents are concerned for the impacts that large scale data centres can have , such as increased demand for water and energy, 24/7 operational noise and effects on wildlife and ecosystems. These concerns deserve careful consideration before moving forward with the project. Residents deserve transparency and clear information about the development and any long term environmental effects that it may have.

Broadmeadows is home to many protected and indigenous flora and fauna like local wattle and Purple Coral-Pea, as well as native trees such as River Red Gum. Moving forward with this project will have a negative impact on the preservation of the natural habitat that these species, plants and ecosystems have relied upon for generations.

We urge the city council and related authorities to reconsider this development .
