Protect Birthright Citizenship and End Immigrant Deportations in America

Protect Birthright Citizenship and End Immigrant Deportations in America
The Issue
We, the undersigned, call upon the United States government to uphold and expand protections for immigrants by:
1. Preserving and Strengthening Birthright Citizenship
The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship to all persons born on American soil, regardless of their parents immigration status. This fundamental right has been a cornerstone of American democracy and has allowed generations of immigrants to contribute to our society. Any attempt to strip birthright citizenship is an attack on the values of equality, opportunity, and justice. We demand that this right remains protected and expanded to ensure all children born in the U.S. have equal access to their rightful citizenship.
2. Ending the Deportation of Immigrants
Deportations separate families, disrupt communities, and harm the economy. Immigrants documented and undocumented play a crucial role in Americas workforce, culture, and development. We call for an immediate halt to unjust deportations and the establishment of comprehensive immigration reform that provides pathways to citizenship, work authorization, and legal protections for all immigrants.
Why This Matters:
- Immigrants contribute to the U.S. economy through labor, taxes, and entrepreneurship.
-Deportation tears families apart and causes trauma to children and communities.
- Birthright citizenship strengthens national unity and prevents the rise of a stateless population.
- A humane immigration system is essential for upholding American values of freedom and opportunity.
We urge lawmakers to take immediate action to protect immigrants, uphold birthright citizenship, and ensure a fair, just, and inclusive immigration system.
My Statement on Birthright Citizenship and Ending Deportations
Roberto Maravilla,
From the bottom of my heart, I am fighting for the rights of immigrants because I know the pain and suffering that so many families endure. I come from an immigrant family my mother is Mexican, and my father is Mexican and Bolivian. Growing up, I saw firsthand the struggles that immigrants face, from working tirelessly to provide for their families to constantly living in fear of being separated from their loved ones.
One of the most heartbreaking things I have witnessed is families being torn apart not just through deportations, but also through the child welfare system (CPS). I have seen children stripped away from their parents, their homes destroyed, and their futures left uncertain, all because of a system that fails to protect the very people who have built and strengthened this country.
Deportation does not just remove individuals from the country it shatters lives, leaving behind broken families, traumatized children, and communities full of grief. No child should have to grow up without their parents simply because of where they were born. No hardworking individual should have to fear being ripped away from their home after dedicating their life to this country.
This is personal to me. It is not just about policies and laws it is about human beings, about dignity, and about justice. America was built by immigrants, and yet, time and time again, we fail to treat them with the respect and compassion they deserve. Birthright citizenship must remain protected, and deportations must end.
I refuse to stand by and watch as more families are torn apart. I am committed to making this change, to fighting for a future where immigrants are not treated as disposable, but as the valuable members of society that they are. This is not just my cause this is a fight for humanity.
I urge everyone who believes in justice and equality to stand with me. Together, we can protect families, uphold fundamental rights, and create a system that truly reflects the values of freedom and opportunity that America claims to stand for. Thank you very much for your time and patience for reading this and taking your time to sign. Again -Roberto Maravilla
