Prioritize Ending Food Bank Reliance

The Issue

In one of the world’s wealthiest economies, no one should be going hungry. Yet the use of food banks in the UK continues to rise, with families, working people, and vulnerable individuals relying on charity to survive.

We call on the Labour government to commit to a cross-departmental plan to reduce and ultimately eliminate the need for food banks. This plan must include action on wages, social security, housing, and access to essential services, as well as reversing the recently announced benefits cuts, and the draconian measures implemented under the Conservatives.

Hunger should not be normalised. Poverty should not be a daily reality. We need change. Now.
