Half Moon Bay Public School is planning to phase out the Kiss n’ Ride the week of November 9th. The reason being is that some kids are a few minutes late since it has to be completed between 8:30 and 8:40 AM, after the buses have finished. I feel the security of our children is much more important and the school should not take away a safe and logical drop-off zone. With the parking ban on the streets immediately adjacent to the school between 8 and 9 AM, this will require parents to find parking further away and have their children walk through a congested traffic area. It would be significantly more reasonable to waive strict “late” policy if a child arrives a few minutes after 8:30 AM. Please sign this petition and let the administration of HMBPS know that we want the Kiss n’ Ride to continue!
