We, the people of India, have been waiting indefinitely for clean cities, proper drainage systems, modernization and planning of garbage collection,  mechanized sweeping of streets at night, smooth roads in cities and no water logging. Is this too much to ask for?

Who is responsible for all these works? It is the municipal corporations of cities. They have failed us.

Why have we not achieved the targets? The answer is that the municipal corporations are elected by the people. The elected corporators have neither the knowledge nor the skill to plan the city management. Moreover, the elections lead to expenditure by candidates, who in turn, indulge in corrupt practices to earn money. 

In a nut shell, the municipal corporation has become an avenue of corruption and mismanagement.

The only way we can improve our cities, is by doing away with the corporation elections. Appointment of skilled city planners and managers are required to make our cities clean and livable. 

Please sign the petition to depoliticise municipal corporations of India and give the powers to appointed candidates who are trained in city planning and management. Please support this petition so that we can have  livable cities.
