The Turnbull Government have announced Sallys Flat, near Bathurst, Mudgee and Orange in the Central West of NSW, as one of 6 locations shortlisted to become a massive nuclear waste dump.

We have seen the impact of nuclear accidents and leaks around the world and we know that nuclear waste will remain hazardous for thousands of years, leaving a poisonous legacy to future generations in our region.

The proposed waste dump is near historic gold-rush villages including Hill End and Sofala, and choosing this site would create risks for the residential population and our pristine environment.
