Born out of a years-long local need, Cineworld in Yate, Bristol represents more than just a cinema to us. It's our communal hub for entertainment, our local connection to the global world of film, and a testament to our community's wishes. Today, it faces an unfortunate fate – closure, an outcome we want to avert.

Through the years, this cinema has not only entertained us but also acted as a social gathering point, providing jobs and boosting local economy. In fact, according to the UK Cinema Association, cinemas contributed over £2 billion to the UK economy in 2019 (UK Cinema Association, 2020). This draws attention to the potential economic impact of closing down such an essential establishment here in Yate.

Preserving our local Cineworld is not just about keeping our community's spirit alive, it's also about sustaining local jobs, supporting the economy, and maintaining our cultural infrastructure in a post-pandemic world where such establishments play a pivotal role.
