As residents of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, we are deeply concerned about the potential closure of our beloved Cineplex Cinemas. This is not just a movie theatre for us; it's a community hub where children, couples and families come together to enjoy quality time. We lost one cinema years ago and can't bear to lose another.

The distance to the next nearest cinema is an hour away which makes our local Cineplex all the more valuable. Our small town already lacks recreational facilities for children and losing this cinema would further limit their activities.

According to Statistics Canada, Bridgewater has a population of approximately 8,532 people (2016 Census). The loss of this cinema would affect everyone in our community as it's one of the few entertainment options available.

We urge local authorities and business leaders to step in and prevent this closure from happening. Let's keep our town vibrant by maintaining important social spaces like our Cineplex Cinema.
