The issue

Every day after school, we pour our hearts and souls into building the Saratoga jumps on the corso. It's a labor of love that gives us a chance to unwind and enjoy our free time. We're just a group of kids trying to have fun, and it saddens us to see our creations taken down by the Central Coast Council and some members of our community.

These jumps aren't just piles of dirt or wood—they're a testament to our creativity, our passion for outdoor activities, and our community spirit. The jumps are a safe outlet for our energy, and they keep us engaged with positive activities that are beneficial not just for us, but for the whole community. There's a peculiar beauty in seeing young people so wholeheartedly invested in something that's harmless yet thrilling.

However, the destruction of these jumps is disheartening. It seems that the fun and excitement we find in these creations are misunderstood. The council's actions are taking away not just our fun, but an essential part of our daily life—a source of joy in our community.

We understand the need for community order and rules, but removing the jumps is not addressing any real issue. Instead, it stifles youth engagement and creativity. We believe that with a little compromise, these jumps can coexist peacefully with the rest of the community.

We propose that instead of tearing down our hard work, the council could collaborate with us and the community to establish guidelines ensuring both safety and enjoyment. With proper dialogue and understanding, the Saratoga jumps can thrive as a cherished part of the Central Coast, promoting a healthier, active lifestyle for everyone.

Sign this petition to urge the Central Coast Council to support our initiative rather than suppress it. Help us keep the Saratoga jumps as a vibrant part of our community.
