ATTENTION SYD BARRETT NATION!!!!!!

The producer of A Complete Unknown, Peter Jaysen, has recently announced that he and writer-director Wash Westmoreland are planning on making a Syd Barrett biopic. There have not been any announcements for a timeline or a release date so far. 

A biopic about Syd would likely be based on untrue rumors and stories or based on peoples' idea that he "was just a mentally ill drug addict," which is a disdainful idea. These rumors about his mental illness, drug use, isolation, and personal life would probably be overdramatized in a way to attract audiences for this biopic. Additionally, since Syd has passed, honest accounts of his life are rare, so the film would possibly be based on stories from people who did not know him. A biopic about his life would be INCREDIBLY disrespectful because of this. Syd's art and music are unique, beautiful, and influential. Syd deserves to be appreciated for his art and we should let him rest.
