Greyhound Racing in the US is very cruel to dogs. Almost 1,000 dogs have died from racing and 11,722 dogs have been injured. It is unacceptable to see beautiful dogs like greyhounds killed and injured while racing for fun or for entertainment. Before the races they are locked up in a warehouse with no AC and are put in small kennels. Many dogs are held in there cages for 20-23 hours a day and are not allowed to go on walks or play. While in the warehouse diseases can spread like fleas, e coli, rabies, ect. Sadly if a dog loses the race they will be whipped and beaten. This is not a way to take care of dogs and is essentially dog abuse!
