On August 26th 2018, In Jordan Minnesota 18 month old Layla Jackson was murdered by her foster parent 30 year old Jason Betlach a Caucasian man who killed her merely because of the color of her skin.

Layla was born at 24 weeks on March 20th 2017 she weighed in at 1 pound 8 oz she fought very hard for her life spending nearly half of her life in the hospital just to be cheated out of her life too soon.

As Layla was abuseed by Mr. Betlach his wife Jessica Betlach ignored the abuse even  going as far as talking to her family about how she hoped that she wouldn't lose her child because he was being abusive to Layla. Even with the thought of losing her own child Mrs.Betlach did nothing to report the abuse and wasn't charged with a crime even after Layla's death.

3 months after Layla's death Mr.Betlach is picked up on 2nd degree murder charges he was ultimately given a 2nd degree murder deal (Layla's family wasn't asked about the deal Intel after he received the deal) he received  30 years he must do 20 years before he can be eligible for parole and this was after the grand jury indictment for 2 counts of 1st degree murder.

To add insult to injury a video of him screaming white pride at her was found in his phone when he was arrested but still this isn't being considered a hate crime.

Our family has made multiple attempts  contacting the FBI and the media and have been ignored the same way Mrs.Betlach ignored what was happening to Layla and look where that went, no where, please help us make sure this doesn't get ignored anymore.

Those that are responsible should be held accountable regardless why she was in foster care she didn't deserve this, this isn't ok, she was just a baby, please help our family get Layla the justice she deserves.
