Help put Sadie Proffitt back in prison
The Issue
Sadie Proffitt, who killed four people, was released from prison. Sentenced to 60 years in prison and only served 8. Proffitt set fire in her home hoping to collect her husband's insurance money of $30,000. Trapped by smoke and flames, Omar Attar (18), Daniel Attar (18), Felicita Attar (18), and Omar Attar Jr. (1), died in the result of her actions. They were innocent neighbors and now missed loved ones. They were our future. This has taken a huge toll on family, friends and our community.
Should murderers have a chance to be released from prison? CONVICTED MURDERERS SHOULD NEVER BE RELEASED. Murdering is deliberatley killing a person, not accidentally. Punishment for murder should be a compariable calibre. It takes a great degree of motivation and determination to light a home on fire and watch as the flames take place to trap these people in their home and take their last breath. State law requires defendants of an aggravated offense to serve at least half their sentence before they become eligible for parole. However, medical release is one program used to release criminals early and save the state money. Physicians said she would not be expected to live more than a year. To this day she is enjoying life outside of prison.
Sadie Proffitt's medical bills were only $900 a month and the state did not want to pay this. Since it was told that she had a terminal illness and she wouldn't live past another year, she was released. She is still alive, but how does she pay for her sickness. Medicare? Medicaid? In which case, would still be paid by the state. Being treated for her illness is a privilege, but why does a murderer get any privileges?
The great state of Texas releases murderers to save money! May the great state of Texas bring our family members back down from the heavens to live another day on this earth? Where is the justice?
Sadie Proffitt was only charged for two counts of murder. She was not charged for the other two murders in case she was released from prison. That day has come. Also, she was not charged for arsine. Please help us put Sadie Proffit back in prison where she belongs! FOUR lives were taken! Three of which were just starting out with their adult lives and a baby who didn't get a chance to grow up.
Appearantly, the parole board did not consider her verdict when they released her. Changes are needed in the medical program. Justice needs to be served! By signing this petition we are uniting together in agreement that Sadie Proffitt deserves to be back in prison.
