PBS News Hour has reported that Russia has hired a pest control company to eliminate all the stray dogs in and around Sochi in advance of the start of the Olympics.  This is a cruel and inhumane action that is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated by decent people.  Most likely, the dogs would be poisoned which would cause terrible suffering and pain.  We, as Americans, cannot support this kind of cruelty by condoning the slaughter of these animals.
