I share this story as a DACA recipient myself, deeply immersed in the anxiety and fear that the rolling back of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program brings. Risks of Deportation from The place we now call home, the United States, it is reminding us that we aren’t counted as its residents even after having built lives here. The repeal of DACA could lead to the ruthless separation of countless families - an act against human dignity and universal family values.

As per a 2020 US Citizenship and Immigration Services report, there were approximately 640,000 active DACA recipients (Source: USCIS). This policy has helped hardworking young immigrants gain access to job opportunities, higher education, and a chance at the American dream - essentially contributing to the country that has become our  home.

DACA is not just an immigration policy but a beacon of hope for all of us. Its repeal can lead to potential upheaval in the lives of hundreds of thousands of DACA recipients, impacting the American economy, and threatening the unity of families.
