Blue Derby Wild
May 25, 2022

It takes about 120 years for eucalyptus regnan trees like this one to form hollows and chimneys that are vital habitat for wildlife like black tail cockatoos, bats, parrots, possums Gliders, and masked owl.
When these forests are logged and replaced with even aged tree crops these habitats are lost as these areas are converted to eucalypt tree crops.

A complex forest ecosystem is very different to the simple wood farm that happens when a high conservation value forest is logged and replaced. This footage is from the tall wet eucalyptus regnan area of Krushka's forest that is still standing thanks to our Supreme Court injunction on logging.

Our case is based on the claim that the logging of these forests is unlawful. Unlawful as the system that has permitted this for decades has been fundamentally flawed.

We're back in court next week as the Tasmanian Attorney General has intervened to reopen our case after our trial concluded. Watch this space
