Police Stations for Sunnybank and Sunnybank Hills

Police Stations for Sunnybank and Sunnybank Hills
Why this petition matters

As anyone would know, the crime rate in the last 24 months has shot through the roof (no pun intended) in the Sunnybank and Sunnybank Hills area.
UPDATE: Published 22 Sept 12:19pm: https://www.couriermail.com.au/questnews/southeast/hundreds-sign-petition-for-a-sunnybank-police-station-amid-renewed-crime-fears/news-story/69353cc4667dd771cc1870ebeadd4727 (may be behind paywall).
I myself have been a victim of an assault recently in the area and I am 6’3 95kg Eastern European male, I fear for someone who is not my gender or size (especially my vulnerable disabled sister who can’t even talk for herself), and I read daily messages of people being car-jacked and having their cars stolen and being robbed and/or assaulted.
Previously, there was a seperate Sunnybank Police Station. I am aware there is now just a ‘police beat’ at Sunnybank Shoppingtown, and the nearest stations are Upper Mt Gravatt which is 24/7 and Calamvale is weekdays only, and then there is Acacia Ridge which is already has it’s own huge crime spot to manage.
This is simply unacceptable, and residents of Sunnybank and Sunnybank Hills like myself, who have been victims of crime, deserve so much better!
I am petitioning that the Queensland State Government, and local member James Martin (vale Duncan Pegg) reflect on the horrific increase/patterns in crime, and actual data/statistics in the area, and build and maintain two seperate police stations in Sunnybank and Sunnybank Hills that are manned 24/7 (or make Calamvale 24/7) until the crime rate is reduced. Another option is a police beat in SBH Shops so people can talk to someone face-to-face.
I am meeting with James Martin in the coming weeks, and will be taking this petition with me, so the more support the better.
I have lived in this area over 30 years and everyone in this community is sick and tired of having to protect ourselves when we all pay our taxes and council fees in good faith in hope we are protected, and the system is currently not doing so and requires immediate action.
If you agree with any of the above please sign this petition or email me directly (jamesvasilic1@gmail.com) and I will get back to immediately. We miss you Duncan, and we miss our lovely crime-free, safe and friendly Sunnybank/Sunnybank Hills
