Please support a Latin Novus Ordo Mass in the Diocese of Shreveport
The Issue
We crave the rich history, diversity and reverence of the church’s liturgy. The Latin Novus Ordo Mass offers a profound connection to our faith's traditions while embracing the reforms of Vatican II* and in obedience to Traditionis Custodes. Many Catholics in Louisiana, while loyal to the Magisterium and their bishop, feel a deep spiritual fulfillment when participating in this form of Mass. By introducing a regular Latin Novus Ordo Mass, we can enrich our community's spiritual life and provide an opportunity for deeper engagement with our faith.
Sign this petition to show your support for bringing the beauty and solemnity of the Latin Novus Ordo Mass to our diocese! We humbly invite our Bishop Malone to designate a parish and a priest who would be willing to celebrate a Sunday Mass Ad Orientem in Latin according to the reforms of Vatican II on a weekly basis.
“There is no better way to experience God than to find Him in the Mass”
-St John Vianney
Christus vincit! Christus regnat! Christus imperat!
*“The use of the Latin language...is to be preserved in the Latin rites...A suitable place may be allotted to the vernacular in Masses.... Nevertheless care must be taken to ensure that the faithful may also be able to say or sing together in Latin those parts of the Ordinary of the Mass which pertain to them.” (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 36 and 34, December 4, 1963).
