The gruesome act of feeding a pineapple stuffed with crackers to a pregnant wild elephant cannot go unpunished. There should be a proper investigation into this heinous crime and the culprits should be taken to the court of justice. Just because this has happened with an animal and not with a human being, it cannot mean that there is no punishment for the criminals. The Asian elephant is deemed to be an endangered species by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). According to animal rights activist Ms. Maneka Gandhi, the Supreme Court is yet to pass a legal ban on the private possesion and torture of Asian elephants by temples and other private organizations. This kind of neglect is driving our belovedAbeloved elephants to the brink of extinction. 

We urge the CM of Kerala to show the rest of the nation that Kerala is not only ahead in literacy but also in humanity. The way this innocent and pregnant elephant was murdered by a group of psychopaths has been raising eyebrows on the kind of law and order that exists for animals in the state of Kerala. We demand an urgent enquiry and proceedings on the matter and we will not rest until the strictest action has been taken against the murderers. This is the least we can do as a way of collective apology to the one animal that has been a symbol of India's mighty heritage and mythology. Do not let us down, respected CM of Kerala.
