Petition to remove the 2026 UMP SRC

Petition to remove the 2026 UMP SRC
The Issue
As students of the University of Mpumalanga, we are frustrated and tired. The current 2026 SRC has failed to stand up for students when it matters most. We no longer feel represented, protected or heard.
Reasons for the call to remove the SRC:
* They have failed to advocate for smooth and student-friendly WIL placements.
* There has been no effective placement support for all second-year Hospitality students.
* First-year students who qualify for admission but are placed on waiting lists have not been properly assisted.
* Academically excluded students have not received strong advocacy or meaningful support to return to their studies.
* Students continue to be blocked from registering due to outstanding debt, with no visible intervention.
* Credit miscalculations have resulted in unfair NSFAS appeal rejections, and this was not properly addressed.
* They failed to bring NSFAS and Intellimali officials to campus to directly assist struggling students.
* The Luhambo room allocation issue was handled poorly, leaving some students sleeping outside the gate.
* Classes continued while many students were still stuck with registration issues, causing them to fall behind academically.
* Missing book allowances have not been resolved.
We are now calling on all UMP students to sign this petition. We need 5,300 signatures in accordance with the SRC Constitution so that we can formally submit it to the Dean of Students.
We are taking our power back as students. The SRC must either step down or face removal through constitutional processes.
Please forward this message to all your class groups and residence groups. Va fanele va huma. A hi nge swi koti ku rindza September.
