Petition to Reevaluate the Genetics (BIOL-FRSC2050H) Exam Grading

The Issue

We, the undersigned students, respectfully request that the recent Genetics examination be reviewed and adjusted through the use of a bell curve.

A significant portion of the class performed substantially below expectations, which strongly suggests that the results may not accurately reflect students’ understanding of the course material. Many questions were unclear, strangely worded, and assessed content in a manner that significantly differed from how it was presented and emphasized during lectures, seminars, and assigned materials. As a result, grades appear to reflect confusion in the exam rather than true student comprehension or effort.

Given the unusually low marks received and the widespread nature of these concerns, we believe that an adjustment would be a fair and reasonable measure to ensure grades more accurately represent student learning and performance. We are committed to the course material and would appreciate  further clarification or review opportunities, but we respectfully ask that fairness and consistency be considered in evaluating this exam.
