The Issue

To: Google LLC
We, the undersigned, ask Google to investigate and restore Google Wallet compatibility for legitimate imported Android smartphones that previously supported NFC payments.
Many users purchase devices from respected manufacturers such as Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Honor, and others. These are genuine smartphones with fully functional NFC hardware and security features. In many cases, Google Wallet worked correctly until a recent software update, after which contactless payments stopped functioning despite no hardware changes.
Users have reported that:
NFC hardware continues to work and can detect NFC tags and cards.
Google Wallet is configured correctly.
Payment cards remain valid.
The issue began after a Google software update on certain imported devices.
We recognize and support Google's commitment to protecting users and maintaining strong payment security. At the same time, legitimate customers who purchased authentic devices should not lose access to a service that previously worked because of a software compatibility issue.
We respectfully ask Google to:
Investigate reports of Google Wallet failures affecting imported Android devices.
Communicate openly about any compatibility changes that may have affected these devices.
Restore compatibility wherever security requirements can be met.
Provide clear guidance to users if certain configurations are no longer supported.
This petition is not asking Google to weaken security standards. It is asking for transparency, investigation, and a solution for customers whose devices appear to have been unintentionally affected.
We appreciate Google's continued investment in Android and Google Wallet and hope the company will work with affected users and device manufacturers to resolve this issue.
Please sign this petition if you believe legitimate Android device owners deserve reliable access to Google Wallet when their devices meet Google's security requirements.
Before publishing, I'd also recommend gathering:
The exact phone model (e.g., Vivo X300 Pro, Oppo Find series, etc.).
ROM version (China ROM or Global ROM).
Google Wallet version.
Google Play Services version.
The approximate date the issue first appeared.
That information can help demonstrate whether this is a widespread compatibility issue rather than isolated reports.
