We as a collective body of school parents and associates have lost faith in the ability for the current Board to govern the school in an appropriate, constitutional and productive manner. 

We are demanding more transparency from the board of Mackay Christian College. The Board currently has four members, all of whom have been selected by Robert Booth-Jones (Board Chairperson and Mackay Christian College CEO) and are not a fair representation of the Mackay Christian College school community.

We, as a school community, are asking for:

•  A clear explanation of the events that led to the resignation of Dr. Gallogray. What knowledge did the Board have prior to Friday June 23rd?
• Notification of the release of annual financial reports and where to find them.

And moving forward, we want to see:

• True parent representation on the Board (a member selected by parents, not appointed by the Board Chairperson)
• Open Board meetings and notification of when they take place
• Access to the Board’s strategic plan for the school
• Financial data actively shared with parents annually

We want the current Board to be dissolved and the constitution re-written, with the ability to transparently elect by the school community a wide, varying representation of school executives, parents and community members to govern and bring accountability to the day-to-day running and forecastable initiatives required to be discussed and implemented in the best interests of all concerned with the future of Mackay Christian College.
