The issue

The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER), The Western Australian Government, Local Council Representatives, and Relevant Authorities

We, the undersigned residents of Madora Bay, Secret Harbour, Singleton, Lakelands, Mandurah, and surrounding areas, urgently call for immediate action to resolve the ongoing odour issues impacting our communities.

For years, residents have endured persistent and unbearable odours originating from industrial sites in Nambeelup, including facilities such as C-Wise and CM Farms. Despite numerous complaints, departmental investigations, and regulatory measures, the problem remains unresolved, significantly affecting our quality of life, health, and property values.

We demand that the government and relevant authorities take the following urgent actions:

Immediate and Effective Odour Mitigation Measures – Implement stricter regulations and enforce immediate measures to eliminate excessive odour emissions.
Accountability for Non-Compliant Businesses – Apply penalties and take enforcement action against companies failing to meet environmental standards.
Transparency and Regular Updates – Provide the community with clear, ongoing updates on investigations, compliance actions, and the timeline for resolution.
Public Consultation and Community Involvement – Organize public forums where affected residents can voice their concerns and receive direct responses from decision-makers.
A Clear Deadline for Resolution – Establish a definitive timeframe for when odour emissions will be significantly reduced or eliminated.
This issue has persisted for far too long, and the community demands immediate and effective action. With an upcoming election, we urge the government and relevant authorities to address this matter with the urgency it deserves.

By signing this petition, we call upon the Western Australian Government and DWER to take decisive action and uphold their responsibility to protect our environment and community.
