Keep Netflix Different from YouTube

Netflix should remain a trusted place for quality family entertainment—not an extension of YouTube.

Many parents choose Netflix because it offers a more curated viewing experience than open platforms like YouTube. While YouTube has its place, it is driven by algorithms and contains a vast amount of content that many families don’t consider suitable for children.

That’s why we don’t want YouTube-style content becoming a regular part of the Netflix catalogue.

This petition is not about attacking individual creators such as Salish Matter or Jordan Matter. They have every right to create content and millions of people enjoy it—on YouTube, where it belongs.

As paying subscribers, we want Netflix to continue investing in original series, films, documentaries, and high-quality family programming that offers something unique and distinct from what is already available for free online.

We ask Netflix to:

Keep Netflix focused on original, premium entertainment.
Avoid filling its catalogue with YouTube creator content.
Preserve Netflix as a trusted streaming platform for families.
