// E N G L I S H V E R S I O N The X-Files (Revival) – For a German dub version with Benjamin Völz. Now! #akteXsynchro After 14 years, the world’s most famous FBI agents are on duty again: Mulder and Scully return to ProSieben – and with them six brand-new episodes. About 12 months ago the announcement of the return of this unique TV phenomenon sent fans all over the world into ecstasy. And the loyal supporters, the Philes, still were and are those who not only keep this phenomenon alive, but due to creative video-clips, fanfictions and brisk care of active communities pervade it with life. The characteristic voice of voice actor Benjamin Völz has been a trademark for nine seasons in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland, which became a distinctive feature with international acclaim as seen on clips on the Home Entertainment releases. If nothing else, the German dub version informed the acting performance: An interview with Gillian Anderson emerged that she has developed a special fondness for her German-speaking counterpart, so that Agent Scully conversed similar to her German ‘’role model’’ in a deeper and matured pitch in later seasons. These details, and the perfection that The X-Files became known for, excites the show’s fans (known as Philes) and draws them together. So it’s only logical that one of the most active and most experienced fan groups discovered the world wide web early on and kept the show’s creators busy – and still sticks up for this attitude. The sparked anticipation and delight about the iconic revival now faces great disappointment, incomprehension and rejection (of the German version), since the announcement of the new dubbing actor for agent Mulder. This will most likely not only have an effect on the ratings but especially on the home entertainment market. In the early 1990s, “The X-Files” drew outstanding ratings in the United States and in over 160 other countries. For the German tv channel ProSieben it shaped the “Mystery Monday” as an attractive lead-in programme and a new, successful tone of programming. No other tv show had ever gained this much from the UFO and conspiracy theories hype – topics which are as relevant as ever. The German Home Entertainment market alone has a worth of 1,76 billion. Euro (as of*: 2013; DVD: 984 million Euro, Blu-ray: 410 million Euro) *Source: Media-Perspektiven With these figures in mind and the excellent growth in the video on-demand/streaming segment (over 32% increase), the purpose of this petition appears more than reasonable, and also is sustainable of immense importance! Furthermore the channel could be persuaded to a new-dub before: After critical voices in regard to the German version of the Canadian-Irish series production ''Vikings'' got louder, ProSieben ordered a complete new dub for the show’s first season when they obtained the license for both seasons. This is the reason why this petition is addressed at ProSiebenSat.1 Television GmbH and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Germany. It’s goal is to motivate both parties to a German dub version of the 6 part event series with Benjamin Völz as a partner.
