The Issue

To: Parkchester Management

We, the residents of Parkchester, are writing to express our collective concern and dissatisfaction with the new parking rules that limit parking access to residents only and require payment of high fees.

While we understand the need for structure within the community, these new regulations have caused significant inconvenience and hardship for many of us. The new parking regulations does not consider the needs of long-time residents and their families.

Reasons for Our Concern:

High Fees: The new parking rates are excessively high and create an unnecessary financial burden for residents who already pay parking meters, rent, maintenance, and more.

Limited Visitor Access: Family members, friends, and guests are no longer able to visit freely due to the risk of being ticketed or towed. This discourages visits and isolates residents from their support systems.

Impact on Seniors and Families: Elderly residents and families with young children are particularly affected, as they rely on family visits and assistance.

No Affordable Option for Multiple Vehicles: Many households own more than one car, yet there are no fair or affordable solutions for additional parking spaces.

Community Disruption: These restrictions create unnecessary tension and frustration among residents, diminishing the sense of unity and belonging in our community.

Increased Street Congestion: The lack of accessible parking, forces residents and visitors to park on surrounding streets, causing overcrowding and safety concerns.

Unfair to Longtime Residents: Many of us have been part of this community for years and feel these changes disregard our loyalty and contributions.
