Persona is one of the worst companies that I've ever seen. For those who don't know what Persona is, it is a face age verification provider that directly supplies the age verification systems for Roblox, Reddit, and Twitch. It has been widely criticized for often inaccurately detecting the ages of users based on their face, especially those on Roblox. There have been cases of minors being mistakenly flagged as adults and sometimes, even vice versa. Because of that, it may actually lead to more minors getting with predators if they don't verify correctly and if the predators know their age, not to mention the system tends to be less accurate on other races such as Black and Asian people. To make matters even worse, Persona is known to actually store your information insecurely and even send the information to governments within mass surveillance databases so they can spy on you, and in February 2026, thousands of data were exposed across over 20 websites after Persona was caught accidentally leaving the data on a public, government-authorized server. This is not acceptable. Persona also lies to you, as they claim to not store your data, yet they actually keep it for as long as 5 years. This company is an absolute disgrace with horrible people and they actually want to figure out your other personal information like your name and even your address. And Persona knows these issues exist yet they do absolutely nothing about it. For all of these reasons, I believe Persona should be shut down and discontinue all their services permanently.
