As people with a vested interest in the future of Spring Grove, we request that the 2013 City Council Members express their support to the Minnesota DOT for the Highway 44/Main street project. We also request that any changes made to the project do not cause the MN DOT to untie the overlay project from the Main Street project, thus denying the City the 1.5 million dollars in funding from the state for said project. 

We recognize that the infrastructure below the street is old and in need of replacement.  We understand that the time to do this project is when the streets are being redone. 

We recognize that the sidewalks on Main Street are in disrepair and need to be fixed for the safety of the citizenry. We understand that maintenance of the sidewalks has been postponed in the past because of the planned street project.  

We agree that the city lights should be replaced when the sidewalks and streets are torn up. This will be the most economical time to replace the lights, as they will be included in the bonding.  

We the undersigned understand that this project will need to be done at sometime in the future and that the MN DOT will not provide any financial assistance if the project is not done on the current timeline.  We also understand that the project will cost more if done in the future.
