Peabody to complete their EWS1 works for the Safety of Inhabitants

The Issue

For over three years now, those residing in Pilch House E3 3XE London, have been kept waiting for the commencement of the crucial External Wall Survey (EWS1) works, which are mandated by government regulations. Despite the pressing need for these safety assessments, required for buildings with cladding or balconies, Peabody has failed to provide any clear indication of when these planned works will commence. We the residents, and leaseholders, live in uncertainty and frustration, with our lives and investments hanging in the balance.

It is disheartening to note that, despite receiving a 'Letter of Comfort' in July 2024, indicating that the required works had not been defined, nearly nine months have passed with no tangible updates from Peabody. This scampering with the regulations and responsibilities is not acceptable. The safety and security standards of our homes should not be trivialised.

Consider also that this situation comes under MP Apsana Begum's purview. We believe it is high time for her office to intervene, to responsibly hold Peabody accountable and ensure enforcement of the much-needed EWS1 works for Pilch House E3 3XE.

We deserve transparency, compliance with regulations, and the assurance of safety within our own homes. We request your support in signing this petition to push Peabody to act on their obligations and to urge MP Apsana Begum's office to ensure the same. Together, we can fight for the safety and peace of mind that have been too long delayed.
