AN OPEN LETTER

To the family of convicted paedophile, JOHN WAYNE MILLWOOD:

Daughter, Sarah Kate Millwood, TV Brand Manager, and husband, Sam William Wilson, psychologist, Sydney

Son, Stuart James Millwood, Agronomy Manager, Launceston Tasmania

Partner, Sonia Ann (Sam) Finlay and her son, pilot Duncan Thomas Finlay,  Tasmania

On 22 December, 2021, the Supreme Court of Tasmania awarded $5.3M compensation to one of the victims of child sexual abuse by Launceston paedophile, John Wayne Millwood. He has refused to pay and a Bankruptcy Notice has been issued by the Australian Financial Security Authority. On 21 July, 2021 Millwood declared himself bankrupt.

While this matter was before the Courts, Millwood divested $8M+ in assets into the control, and to the benefit of, his daughter Sarah Millwood and other family members. 

It would be morally reprehensible if this denied compensation to child abuse survivors. Unfortunately, all of those listed above who have benefited from the divested assets, have refused to cooperate. A long Federal Court battle lies ahead, but we still hold out hope ...

We call upon his family to stand with us and do the right thing, by ensuring those assets contribute to compensation awarded by the Courts.
