Get Subcommittee to Approve Ft. McClellan Health Registry Act

The Issue

The Veterans of Ft. McClellan want H.R. 2622 (Ft McClellan Health Registry Act) to be approved in the subcommittee and passed by Congress.  Veterans of Ft. McClellan want to be notified, examined for possible health issues, and receive treatment from the VA for problems associated with exposure to Chemical Warfare Agents.  All three locations in Anniston were placed on the "super fund" list so that they received money to clean up the toxic chemicals being released from leaking Chemical Warfare Agents.  The Veterans deserve to be a priority as well.  The Veterans are just as important as the environment, yet the environment has been a priority for many years.  Veterans deserve to be notified of their exposure to Chemical Warfare Agents.  Many Veterans do have health problems that are related to the toxic exposure of Chemical Warfare Agents that were being slowly released in the air.  This was part of the "bio-remediation" process the fort was using and was listed in the EPA Report..  All the Veterans associated with this bill have been waiting for several years for it to be signed.  Some of them have health problems that are going untreated. However, the environment has been being treated for many years as a priority on the "super fund" list.  Please make this bill a priority on its fourth time in subcommittee.
