Every Sunday, there have been an increased number of power outages that directly impact our community. As you may be aware, during this pandemic all education and work has been shifted to a predominantly online format which cause major issues when the city decides to randomly shut the power down. There are reports of children having their exams cut off and shut down due to these power outages as well as important machinery that aids in health and safety of patients that live in their home. These medical devices are crucial to be consistently running and an interruption in the power from the city doesn't seem to accommodate that. In addition, home security, wifi, heating and other appliances all are reset when the City decides to randomly shut the power of for construction or other upgrades, with rates for electricity rising higher and higher in these trying times it would be in the best interest of the city to suspend outages during the day and to keep any outages for times that would least inconvenience the public. At the very least, a notice of work or an outage that is issued city wide would be of great value. If none of the aforementioned criteria can be met then we would like the rates of our electricity usage to be cut down as the service being provided is not up to par with what our community requires, needs and wants.
