Pass the We the People Accountability Act in Texas

Pass the We the People Accountability Act in Texas
The Issue
Public office in Texas is not a privilege for personal power.
It is a sacred trust granted by the people. No one forces these people to step up and swear the oath
Every elected or appointed official in Texas must swear an oath under the Texas Constitution to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Texas.
That oath is not ceremonial.
It is a binding promise to the people.
Yet today, when officials violate that oath, the consequences are often nothing more than political criticism, reprimands, or censure. These measures DO NOTHING to deter abuse of power and or hold accountable the tyrants violating their oaths.
The We the People Accountability Act proposes restoring meaningful accountability by establishing the following principles:
1. Oath of Office Must Carry Legal Responsibility
Any public official who willfully and knowingly violates their oath of office in a way that deprives citizens of their constitutional rights should face criminal penalties. This includes knowing of a violation/crime and remaining silent about it.
2. Felony-Level Accountability for Serious Violations
When an oath violation results in the intentional abuse of government authority or deprivation of constitutional rights, the offense should be treated as a felony under Texas law.
3. Permanent Disqualification from Public Office Indefinitely
Individuals convicted of violating their oath should be permanently barred from holding public office in Texas.
4. Equal Justice Under the Law
The Act reinforces the fundamental American principle that no one — including government officials — is above the law.
5. Due Process Protections
All investigations and prosecutions must follow full constitutional protections including:
presumption of innocence
trial by jury
judicial review
This ensures the law cannot be weaponized politically while still enforcing accountability.
