Party Like It's 2010: Return Old Web Everywhere

The Issue

I believe the time has come for change in the current Internet landscape. Not just how it functions, but the way it's presented. Ever since the late 2010s and early 2020s, the monochromatic and simplistic style of today's websites is monotonous and bland. This also goes for how the web, and how popular browsers like Google, Firefox and even Internet Explorer (now Microsoft Edge) have fallen to over-simplicity. Some of the most popular brands and names in the entire world have been oversimplified to nonrecognition, and it will only get worse with each passing decade. The vibrant, unique colors and nostalgic feel of yesteryear's (2000-early 2010's) Internet layout has been captured into most of the hearts of the people who were there to witness it, even myself who only got a short amount of time to live in it.

I remember when I used to play on the Windows 7 family laptop in the house before the family upgraded to a new Windows version, and way before I got my first personal laptop. The nostalgic sounds, the glassy taskbar and title bar, even the famous Harmony wallpaper; that's what led me to make this petition and what led me to fight for what I want.

The point I'm trying to make with this story is that I speak for some people on the Internet when I say that the Frutiger Aero aesthetic needs to be revived, and be accessible for everyone to bask in.

That may already be possible, but sometimes, life happens and things break. Some others (like myself) just don't see the appeal of moving to outdated hardware or downloading outdated software to get the full experience of the 2000s and early 2010s. That is why this is also a call to action for the major companies like Google and Firefox to allow users to revert back to the old (2000-2010) designs, and allow more creativity. This aesthetic and Internet design has been dearly missed by many people, and most would be more than estatic to see it resurge in some form, even if it is limited.

Even websites too, like YouTube, Roblox, and all of the majorly used websites could use the throwback treatment. There are revival projects and themes for websites, but they just don't feel the same as the real thing. I, along with many others, would be more than happy to see the old web come back in some way, shape, or form.

Simply sharing or signing this petition would get my point across to the big corporation, and let them see that I fight for what I believe is right. Anything would help, even if you're just stopping by to see what I have to say. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
