Oppose Wrexham Council's Proposed 15% Council Tax Increase

Oppose Wrexham Council's Proposed 15% Council Tax Increase
The Issue
As a resident of Wrexham, I am deeply affected by the constant rise in council tax over the past years. The prospect of a 10% rise, potentially escalating to an astonishing 15%, seems both unjustified and overwhelming. These proposed increases come at a time when many of us are struggling, grappling with the national cost of living crisis.
Wrexham Council's tax rates have already surged considerably in recent years. From 2010 to 2020, council tax for Band D properties in Wrexham increased by approximately 30%, outpacing inflation (Gov.UK, 2021). It's time the Council focused on internal savings rather than increasing the financial burdens on its residents.
Let the Wrexham Council hear our collective call. We propose that instead of this potentially detrimental tax increase, the Council consider an inward-facing approach, investigating where efficiencies might be found within their workings. This would alleviate the additional financial stress on residents and promote a more sustainable solution for everyone.
It's time for the Council to choose a more equitable path. Please support our plea against this tax hike. Sign the petition today.
