Oppose second East Finchley CPZ consultation.
The Issue
A meeting was held this 11th April 2024, attended by members of Barnet council and residents, to discuss the expansion of the N2 Controlled Parking Zone.
This will mean residents will need to pay for permits, vouchers for visitors will need to be purchased and visitors from other boroughs will have to pay to park during restricted hours.
The council plans to enforce the restrictions for 4 hours each day 11-3pm in the new N2 zone.
It was revealed that the original consultation results were as follows:
22% for
71% against
7% don't know
Despite this landslide result the council set the CPZ wheels in motion February 2024. Having received complaints, petitions and other communications from the residents, this was 'paused'.
These results clearly indicate the majority are against the CPZ, this view echoed by the attendees who voiced opinions on the detremental effects this type of restriction will have on everyone within N2 area.
However the council still plans to go ahead with a second costly, unnecessary consultation. Surely they already have their answer!
We want Barnet Council to listen to us.
Please support:
NO more consultations
NO to the East Finchley CPZ
