Open Morgan North Dining Hall

The Issue

Everyone by now has definitely seen all the signs in the dorm that “1/3 Temple students are food insecure." There is so much traffic to get food on campus that would be cut down significantly if the morgan dining hall was open. Many restaurants in the SAC, morgan, Panera, and the food trucks close after a certain time which leaves the dish as the only place students can get food with meal swipes. Not everyone can afford food with their own money, and the fact that diamond dollars is getting taken away is making this situation so much worse. A lot of families will only give their kids money if it's through diamond dollars, so there's another compromising situation. Temple also just implemented a new rule that students can't use their meal swipes for other students/guests which makes no sense whatsoever. Temple keeps advertising that the class of 2028 is record breaking when it comes to admitted students. If the university continues to take away resources where students can get their food, the traffic is only going to get worse. What is Temple doing to fix this problem? Opening up the food pantry where you can only get food that requires tools you don't have in a dorm?
