One Rule for Trump, Another for Voters? Protect Mail Voting

The Issue

Voting is one of the most fundamental rights in a democracy. It should be accessible, fair, and consistent for everyone.

Recently, Donald Trump cast a mail-in ballot in Florida. At the same time, he is pushing for federal legislation that would significantly limit access to mail voting for millions of Americans.

This contradiction raises an important question: if voting by mail is a valid and accessible option for some, why should it be restricted for others?

Mail voting has become an essential tool for many Americans. It allows people to participate in elections when they are working long hours, caring for family members, traveling, or facing health challenges. For many, it is not a convenience, it is the only realistic way to vote.

Research cited in public reporting shows that fraud in mail voting is extremely rare. Yet proposals to restrict it could make it harder for everyday Americans to have their voices heard.

This is not about political parties. It is about fairness.

The rules that apply to voting should apply equally to everyone. No American should face unnecessary barriers to participating in our democracy, especially when those in power are able to use the very methods they seek to limit.

We call on Congress to reject efforts that would unnecessarily restrict mail-in voting and to protect the freedom of Americans to choose how they cast their ballots. Voting options should expand participation, not limit it.

Every eligible voter deserves the same access to the ballot box, regardless of who they are or where they live.

If mail voting is secure enough to be used at the highest levels, it should remain available to all Americans.

Sign this petition to protect fair, equal, and accessible voting for everyone.
